Dear 2025 Yuletide Author,

 

Thanks for being willing to write for me! I’m just putting my specific 2025 prompts here though as always, please have fun and don’t feel beholden to any specific idea I have suggested. For general likes, please scroll down to previous exchange letters.

DDT Pro Wrestling

I kind of don’t know how to explain my extensive fujoshi headcanons about DDT--I guess I am out of practice as I once was exclusively a m/m wrestling fic writer. I ship Mao/Kanon, I also like Mao/Kanon/Kimihiro, Chris Brookes/Takeshi Masada, and I do like to imagine Yuki Ueno is Mao’s jealous ex. I think KANON cries during sex. I think Ueno is slowly going insane seeing how happy Mao is without him. 

 

I do also like to imagine that Bunbun is Chris and Masada’s baby and Masada is in fact the mom. Hate to say this but I would be very excited to read about Masada’s puppet mpregnancy. 

 

I did also like when Bunbun became human (we think that was To-y playing the character?).

 

Other likes include A/B/O, winner’s room fic, ring boners, angst, bdsm, edging, piss? A lot of them have girlsonas from a time where they all pretended to be joshi wrestlers from a fake promotion, and they dress up as girls every now and then to have a joshi-style match, so fucking around with gender would be not just fun but plausibly canonical. You can force femme them. (You can force masc them?)

 

Smut is great, gen would also be fine! There is all kinds of weird shit going on in DDT to write gen about. I’m ok with any other DDT wrestler over the age of 18 to be included as background/to flesh things out. 

 

DNW: de-aging, presence of under-18 DDT roster members, discussion of Masa Takanashi’s injury, soulmate fic, major character death, eroticized spanking (actual slapping during a wrestling match is fine, see letter for details), non-wrestling AUs. (AUs where they are also still wrestlers is fine, AU where characters who aren’t normally in-ring wrestlers become wrestlers is also fine.)

Any combination of these characters is fine. My preference is for at least two from the list, but if you have a good idea for a solo-focused story I am open to that.

 

I love Will/Kim and Archie/Daniel but I also love the strained/growing/inevitable mentoring relationships between Will and Archie and Kim and Daniel. 

 

In all of the KJ Charles canon, the character I relate to most of all is Daniel as he is in the WDA books. I love old Daniel. I am him. We are tired out by our stressful jobs in similar ways. We are old queer poets who now do a lot of paperwork and try to keep our younger counterparts from getting themselves killed. 

 

I LOVED the glimpse of Will and Archie beginning a mentoring relationship that we saw in the epilogue (on the KJC website in case you haven’t read it). I'd love to see more about their different backgrounds/social classes, different war experiences, similar intelligence careers. Is there a world where they ever open up to each other enough to talk about their romantic lives? Would Will know enough to try to ask Archie about the events of King Solomon's Mines (where KJC borrowed Sir Henry Curtis's character)? I truly can’t get enough of this idea. I think their personalities would have just enough friction that seeing them come to genuinely care about each other as people would be very satisfying.

 

It would be cool to see Will and Daniel have to team up to save Archie and Kim.

 

Any fic that features the workings of the Private Bureau would be especially welcome. Casefic is great, epistolary/alternative format is great, 

 

I keep imagining how to write a Cold War AU for any of these characters and not quite getting there, but if you can figure it out I’d love to read it.

 

Smut is great as long as it is within somewhat of a veneer of plot/character development.

I love the girls but I only get so many character slots, but if you so desire please include as much Fee, Maisie, Fen, and Pat as you want.

I have 100 hours into this game and I’ve seen the third and plausibly final ending/coda. If you haven’t played it but mean to, don’t read any farther.

 

Some personal interpretations/possible plot hooks:

 

Auravei’s motivation for the puzzle she left behind. Her relationship with her dreams of being an architect and disappointments in the life she ended up with. Why she bought the estate in the first place?

 

Is Clara Epsen really her parents’ child, an Epsen, or is she actually a lost member of the royal family? Or, was her mother a member of the royal family? I keep thinking of the tomb letter, and the newspaper clipping about the family fleeing to Eraja, and the birth of the princess. Is there any way the princess is Clara? Clara should have had her mother's surname in the Erajan style but didn't. Was that to cover up who her mother is? Somehow?

Clara’s life after her husband’s death, and/or Clara’s relationship with Mary?

 

Mary planning/executing the museum heist.

 

Slice of life with Mary & Caleb in the safe house.

 

Mary/Caleb becoming lovers while they are in the Children of Black Water together. (Note: I believe Farro, their comrade, is also secretly the security guy in the mansion, because the handwriting is the same on the memos as on Farro’s note in the fake exhibit room?)

 

Caleb and/or Mary being tortured for information by the Red Guard.

 

Mary’s life after escaping? I do believe she is still alive. 

 

Lost works of Marion Marigold?

 

I am OK with infidelity as a plot point/having a presence in a story.

 

Alternative format fic/interactive fiction welcome for this fandom. Is puzzlefic a thing? I would welcome that if you are game (I have written at least one thing like this before so I at least know it’s possible.)
